Academics: Curriculum for Success

South Ozone Park 4Following orientation, the youth will be assigned a class program based on his or her grade level and academic needs at the time of enrollment. The school offers most courses found in middle and high schools in the community, including English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Art, and Physical Education. Students requiring specific courses for graduation are given individual instruction in the required class. Students who are behind in credits may receive credit recovery courses.

Passages Academy’s curriculum is designed in six-week units. Report cards and/or credits are issued every six-weeks for students that complete satisfactory work.

Passages Academy prepares all students who are eligible to take middle school and Regents exams, Regents Competency Tests (RCT), and the New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSELAT) at each of its sites on the scheduled citywide test dates.
